John Ciardi (1916 - 1986)
Dan Dunder is a blunder.
What makes Dan so loud, I wonder?
If I knew how to be that loud
I think I'd look for a big black cloud
And get a job with it -- as thunder!

Cute!
ReplyDeleteA little levity was in order after all that serious Donne.
I think I'll do light 'n easy today, too.
BTW Do you own Ciardi's How Does a Poem Mean?
Oops -- I meant this one to be Saturday's poem. I'm going to redate it, so it'll show up tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteNo, I've heard of it and I'd like to read it. This one comes from You Read to Me I'll Read to You, which is meant for parents and children to read to each other. All the kids and I are reading it together in the morning. It's hilarious.
BTW, I don't know if you get here through the link to by blog, or to the post, but the poem I meant to go up today is up also, below this one -- more Donne, of course.
ReplyDelete;-)
